Bad Religion tickets arrived in the post the day after the gig. Managed to pick up 2 tickets at the box office for no extra cost on the night using a confirmation code so no problem.

I want to conquer the world, give all the idiots a BAD new religion

A bad workman always blames his ProTools

Spent today recording on ProTools and figured out a few things about the mixer that's got me mixing things a LOT better! Bit quieter mixes though but less OD.

The Computers crashing PJ's

The Defenestrators played PJ's tonight alongside New Fiction (3/5 guys from To Kill a Day with a new singer) The Alchonauts and The Computers. The audience were absolutely mental! We had our first crowd surfer (and floor surfing, although I doubt Dougie sliding face first along the floor was intentional!)

Grease

Fact: This picture is more interesting than the musical.

I was grilling sausages on our George Foreman but I didn't have a drip tray for the grease so I used an oven tray filled with a wee bit water so the tray wouldn't end up all greasey. This is the result.

Hehehe! The Giant Chicken is Boba Fett!

Added a system to Winged Behemoth where you can accept Bounties. Still need to code the relevent Enemies into the game. Trying to come up with random alien names is hard.

14 August 2010

These are not the droids you are looking for....

Some enemy design and coding for the game. Mostly various different probes with different looks and attack patterns.

13 August 2010

Fun Fun Fun in the Sun Sun Sun

Spent most of the day coding and designing levels for Winged Behemoth. Here's a shot of one of my favourites! You can actually see the ships reflection on the water!

Managed to get a working shop system in Winged Behemoth 2.

11 August 2010

Intergalactic Planetary

Managed to get a system working in Winged Behemoth 2 where you can visit certain planets and speak with rebels and stragglers. Some pretty awesome vector graphic work too.

Sauceum - Take 6

Started recording The Defenestrators first EP. Was mostly soundchecking drums but we got them sounding awesome and managed to record drums for Duct Tape, Ode to a T-shirt, Sauceum and One Note Salsa.

9 August 2010

Something Something Something.....Darkside....

Continued work on Winged Behemoth 2. Managed to get a system of "dark powers" whereby collecting certain amounts of dark matter and pressing the D key the player can trigger special powers. The above pick shows the Stasis power which slows down all the enemies.

Winged Behemoth Deuce

Started working on a sequel to Winged Behemoth (the Flash game I developed for my HND).

Here is the story for the game:

BackStory (Winged Behemoth 1)

The Winged Behemoth is a spacecraft infused with the spirit of an ancient dragon. Long ago there were many of it’s kind and their purpose was to protect the universe and all it’s inhabitants from evils that might arise to endanger it.

In the year 3249 a race who call themselves “Humans” from the Planet “Earth” in the Milky Way Galaxy had, through their own careless advancements in technology, managed to rip a hole in the universe that lead into Dark Space. Many of the Behemoths gave their lives in sacrifice in order to save the universe. The last Behemoth was forced to lay waste to the human race to prevent any more such accidents.

What the Behemoth didn’t realise was that a parallel instance of the human race had escaped from Dark Space and were plotting to take over the known universe. They settled on the planet of Hephaestus and built an army of thousands, as well as a giant Planet Crusher, with cannons capable of destroying planets. It wasn’t until the Dark Humans attacked The Behemoth’s home planet that It was forced to single-handedly take on the invaders.

Story (Winged Behemoth 2)

After defeating the dark human infestation and returning our universe to normal the Behemoth returned to it’s home planet where it entered a state of hibernation.

Billions of years of evolution later and a new intelligent, humanoid life form and come into fruition from a distant planet. Their name roughly translated into English would be the Ksars. The Ksars perfected space travel and terraforming, and soon colonised several of the planets in their system and after perfecting lightspeed travel, went on to colonise many systems under the command of the Ksar Space Programme.

The Ksar Space Programme then discovered the Behemoth’s Galaxy and sent out explorers and scouters to analyse the region for terraforming.

It was on the Colony Planet of Githous in their own system that they discovered a rare egg. Little did they know this was the egg of a Behemoth which had laid in slumber, incubated by the planet’s atmosphere. Ksar Scientist were quick to realise that terraforming the planet could be dangerous to the egg, while the Ksar Space Programme where anxiously pushing the colonisation of the planet. The egg would have precious little time.

It was at this time the Behemoth awoke from it’s slumber as if summoned by a spiritual bond. Now it must travel many galaxies spanning billions of light years in order to save it’s species….

BBQ

Had another BBQ at the Watering Hole. Shame it rained but the food was good and I seemed to get pretty drunk while spending very little money. Sarah and I have officially been together for a month too.

Parental Advisory

Today The Defenestrators played a birthday party in Rosyth. We were in a tent with all the food. The gig actually sounded really good but we had to watch the language before the watershed as there were a lot of kids present. We each got 20 beers for playing too!
