31 October 2010 - HALLOWEEN
There can only be one Weegie!
So for Halloween this year I was lazy with the costume (and a bit skint). So I decided to rehash an old costume (which is known as a Déja Boo according to Urban Dictionary,) and go as Super Mario BUT this year just to be different I decided to stash my green L cap and a green Nintendo T-shirt in my overalls and at several toilet breaks in the night I would change costume!
There were actually a few other Mario and Luigi's out (with costume shops now selling crappy M&L costumes) and not having a partner kinda sucked but the best point of the night was walking to the toilet to change into Luigi as Mario and being stopped by another Luigi and having a brotherly chat. The next time I saw the guy I was Luigi too and the other Luigi said "Aw hey! Now you're on my turf!"
There was also nearly trouble when I was dancing to Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit and I spotted Sonic The Hedgehog on the dance floor...

Halloween Eve
Went to a Sarah's where I helped (a wee bit) to get the place Halloweeny. Then we went to a Burlesque show at The Doghouse which was entertaining but pricey. Some of the women were quite burly where others were only burly-esque. Flash photography wasn't allowed at the show so here's a shot of some pumpkins.

Cry 2 OVD
This Nintendo product registration number told me to drown my sorrows in rum.
You get these numbers with every 1st Party Nintendo game (i.e. the ones made by Nintendo) and entering them on Nintendo's website earns you Star Points which can be exchanged for prizes like ringtones, playing cards, gold wii wheels and Nintendo Points (previously Wii Points till the DS started doing DLC). I'm aiming to exchange for Nintendo Points so I can download Virtual Console/Wii Ware games for free!

Crazy Horses
The horses were out while I was walking Gus today. This white one didn't have it's jacket on. There was alson a brown one starting on Gus.
And todays date is 20.10.2010 which is awesome. They should have a word for when the day and month make up the year and we should use it as an excuse to party!

Karma Chameleon
If the guys from Culture Club got a reptile in their curry would it be a Korma Chameleon? So another day of binge gaming on Oblivion and today I enchanted some light leather armour into the Chameleon Suit! 5 pieces of armour, each granting 20% Chameleon effect resulting in a 100% invisible character. In the picture above I've snuck into the Elder Council Chambers, the most heavily guarded place in the game with the toughest guards. The picture is taken in 3rd person view. While I was there I robbed Chancellor Occato.
Here's the suit in my inventory.

Metal-retox
This is the rig I've been using for Defenestrators practises at my dad's school. My dad got the granger cab for £70 and it's waaaaaay better than the crate cab in sound. We've also been working on a song called Detox to Retox (about going cold turkey on booze before going to a music festival and then drinking like a fish). Although up until now we've thought of ourselves as a punk band this song changes things cause it's metal, pure and simple.

Hot and Cold
Went through to Sarah's for the weekend. She asked me to pour bottles of coke and some energy drink down the sink cause they were flat. I was a bit disappointed that mixing the two didn't cause some sort of a chemical reaction, but the excitement of realising the bottles had red and blue lids more than made up for it!

The Defenestratettes
So I got my video work handed in today. Looks a bit rough but there's certainly been more effort put into it than some of the other submissions like a 'refreshing documentary about social notworking' (a guy on facebook hitting F5 a lot).
So from when I finished college to open mic time I was on Adobe Premier editing live footage and putting live videos on youtube.

Editing
Here's a selection of decent stills. Spent from 9am to 12am editing video footage for my documentary trying to put about 3+hours of captured gig and interview footage into 2 minutes 2 seconds to meet the Napier Uni (and Virgin Media Shorts Competition) standards. Candle was considerable burnt at both ends!

We are the Defibulators!
So the Defenestrators played PJ Molloys tonight and with the help of Stu and Lee the gig was filmed for the documentary I am making (and to get loads of decent live footage!) This still is from Stu's Canon XL2.

Urban Dictionary's Word Of the Day
The first Defenestrator practice in a few months coinciding with Urban Dictionary's word of the day
This picture was taken from a still from video footage we got of practice. Trying to get a still from footage on Premier is so unnecessarily round about and awkward.
On Pinnacle Studio you put your timeline marker to the frame where you want to take a still, and from the still menu click the wee camera button and then click "Save As" and save in appropriate format through a typical drop down in a Save As menu style.
In Premier (industry standard software for reasons beyond me) you have to Export, Media then try and find the frame using In and Out Points in the Output window then choose where to save it and what to call is (and select Bitmap format) and then click OK which transfers it to the Adobe Media Encoder queue window where when it reaches it's point in the queue (and anyone who's ever used a busy printer knows the frustration of queues) it starts making a bitmap of every frame between the in an out points. Good if you want LOADS of frames turned into bitmap files but annoying as fuck if you want just one still.
