A Big Boy Did It and Ran Away
Currently reading this book, by Christopher Brookmyre. Been reading it since I finished Pandaemonium which I got at Christmas. It's been a while since I picked it up though, cause reading books is not something I normally do, although I feel I should. Would be better stimulation for my brain than staring at a Facebook home page all day waiting for some witty banter or reading webcomics.

Eenie Meenie Minie Mo
Parents away, xbox in living room. Took a handful of games downstairs to play. Ended up playing Halo ODST just so I can get the campaign done. ODST is like Halo 3 but with all the good bits taken out. You can't duel weld guns, you need medipacks to heal and as it's set earlier in the saga all the weapons are more primitive. Plus you pretty much spend most the time running around New Moombasa's empty streets with little ammo till you find some clue that reminds you of one of your fellow ODST's and then you get an ACTUAL level where you're flashbacked into a heavy skirmish as another character.
Edit 29.5.2010: Played ODST's "Firefight" mode this morning and I have to say that the gameplay is fucking awesome! It's essentially Gears of Wars "Horde" mode but with Halo gameplay.

Too Skint
So today I was influenced to go for the first skate of the summer by Daryl who ended up not turning up due to not having a board. So I went out on my raggidy-assed poison deck with the rusted hinging bearings, knackered kingpin, worn wood and dodgy wheels. Nailed a few grinds including a 5.0 which for me is impressive and a boneless or two off the box (going more distance than height too). While attempting a roll-in the board pretty much snaked and I slammed into the floor at high velocity scraping my hand, ass and elbow.

100 Posts!
So according to blogger.com this is my 100th post to my picture a day blog! So I thought I'd treat you all to a random picture that I found today to disguise the fact that I forgot to take a picture today....
I also got my PC fixed (again) today (motherboard was shot, £60 repair. I'm scraping the barrell of my student loan.) The picture above is courtesy of www.halolz.com
I had a job interview with Harlem today but have not heard back so I'm assuming I didn't get it. Sounded good though.

We are the mohawk brothers, don't get along with others...
...We may not go down in history but we'll go down on your sister.
So my mum gave my dad a mohawk. I have to say it's kinda crappy. She left it too long. at the sides. They did this to wind me up but I thought it was kinda cool, and was gutted when he shaved it off the next day!

Spanglehorse
Spanglehorse would be such a great name for a band! Anyway here is a horse, spangled in the roasting sun. I ended up going down the Glen with Sian and then sitting outside the watering hole till 6pm. I ended up very sunburnt. I have blisters on my head! I never learn though, I just want to tan :(

Download
Starting to feel excited over download now. This is actually my first festival so been nervous about that. Also need to sort myself out with a tent. We had a look at the lineup at the pub and started to plan our weekend.
Bad news though: I found out that Pennywise just played Glasgow and Bad Religion are playing on the 21st :( Totally missing two of my favourite bands.

Let me show you my Pokémans!
So on my pokémon file I got my cascade badge and then swapped most my pokémon between games. The two pictured above have now evolved since this screen dump was taken. I also got 2 meowths which I'm trying to get to learn Payday so I can have loads of cash!
But it's not all been pokémon. Today I applied for loads of jobs, got harassed by loads of green flies and got loads of Vector Graphics work done!

R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio
"Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever." - Wendy Dio

Meow
When I came home from aikido today this cat was stalking me from the bushes in the backgarden of the houses that run parallel to my close.
Also managed to hurt my shoulder again at aikido due to being projected into the floor taking ukemi for Ushiro Ryotetori Kokyunage (Ushiro - attack from behind, Ryotetori - double wrist grab, Kokyunage - breathing throw).

Graded Unit
Here's a screen dump of the website I'm building for my graded unit. The only snag is my client has failed to return any of the emails I sent him requesting him to send me content for his website, so I'm having to manufacture content myself so that I have something that can actually be tested. On the plus side I finished my Flash game and emailed it to a selection of testers so that just leaves my write up of the test results, my Vector Graphics work and I'll only have the Graded Unit left to do!
Notice how it doesn't fit in my browser window? At college it's too wee for the window leaving white space. Cannae win!

Filler (or should that be Grout?)
Sorry but I forgot to take a picture today. I was too busy playing xbox and doing written work for college and being chucked about at aikido. Anyway here is a filler picture. It was taken last year at Ceramic Tile Warehouse. I found this sample tile called "Metalica". The colour is "petrol" (although I thought it should be "fuel"). Just had to take a picture. Shame I didn't have a blog back then.

Support Slavery
Hooked the Xbox back up to the HD Telly after it was exiled into a box under my bed so my mum could shampoo the living room carpet and I just never got round to hooking it up in my bedroom cause lets face it the TV in my room just aint HD. So here I am playing Fallout 3, in the ruins of Pittsburgh (or The Pitt). After earning my freedom from slavery by winning several arena matches I went to see Ashur, the lord of The Pitt in order to steal "The Cure" for the radiation which turns the slaves into trogs. I decided to side with the slavers and kill the rebellious slaves. (Actually I ended up killing anyone in general who pissed me off, including a few raiders/slavers.)

The DefenePlayerTM
Today has been a pretty uneventful day. Woke up at 12, played pokémon, had lunch and watched The Running Man, emptied the gear from last night's gig into the garage, played guitar, played more pokémon, had dinner, watched loads of Two and a Half Men whilst playing pokémon and then decided to update this blog.
What I did do which is of interest is come up with the idea for The DefeneplayerTM (pictured above). Started building bits on Flash and Photoshop. Basically it's going to be a Flash MP3 player (like the ones on myspace etc) but it's going to have a grungy retro interface with a tape deck. An innovation in Flash MP3 Player design. You click on the tapes (with the song titles on) and the tape goes in the deck and plays the song! Still at early design stages though.

Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap
Shackled at the 2nd Annual Fife Custom Bike Show. We closed the gig from 11-12am. It was freezing, the P.A. feedback was mental, crowd was small and Andy's bass setup was just taking the piss but I really enjoyed it for the experience. If only I wasn't driving I could have taken full advantage of the free beer token. Thanks to Scott for the photo.

Fell off the back of a lorry
The Defenestrators played the 2nd Annual Custom Bike Show alongside Drive By Audio. This gig was special for me because it was the first time I'd played in the back of a lorry. It was also The Defenestrators 1st Biker Gig and 5th overall gig. Given that we're into the 5th month of the year that makes 1 gig a month!
It's been a busy week musically for me: Defenestrators Practise Saturday, Shackled Practise Sunday, Defenestrator Practise Monday, Defenestrator gig Tuesday, Defenestrators practise Wednesday (song writing wooo!) Open Mic Thursday and Defenestrator gig Friday with a Shackled gig Saturday!

No Vote, No Picture
Was going to head down to the voting station and take a picture of my ballot slip, with some form of vote wasting graffiti scribbled on it, but I had better things to do. Plus I've never cared about politics, even when working for Fife Council when politics could affect my wages/tax etc. So I can't help but feel my peaked interest in voting somewhat pretentious.
Anyway here's a random picture of my hamster Sandy (R.I.P) photoshopped into a Pikachu (even though Pikachu is a mouse, not a hamster) who was named after my old Sandshrew/Sandslash "Sandy" on pokemon yellow.
Random pokémon factoid: Pikachu is japanese for "electric mouse".

Neale Used Visual Boy Advance! It's SUPER EFFECTIVE!
Discovered that Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue got remade for the Gameboy Advance as FireRed and LeafGreen so I downloaded ROMS for them and using the sync features of VBAlink I am able to actually play both games at exactly the same time using the same controls! Also I can trade pokémon from one window to the other! Awesome! And in the tradition of giving rivals shit names I called them Wankbag and Bawface!

May the 4th Be with you!
Tonight The Defenestrators played PJ Molloys with Hipflask and The Alchonauts. It was a great night of punk rock! We had audience participation and everything and some cameos (Theo of The Alchonauts singing Duct Tape and Jay singing Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones). We had Kerry Anderson, Photography Student, taking pictures of the night (her favourite one pictured above) and have been offered some studio time courtesy of Daryl Robertson, Sound Engineering Student. The Defenestrators - doing their part for the education system!

MOHAWK POWER!
Today I randomly decided to spike my mohawk up for college (I usually don't make the effort) and I went into college for only 1 class, 9-11am and I only went in to hand in the work for my completed 3D modelling project. I ended up being asked by a MILF photography student to do an entirely DIFFERENT kind of modelling. Was hoping to have a photo for this blog but for now I'll settle on this camera-phone-in-bathroom-at-the-myspace-angle shot of me from the night previously when I was like "yeah my mohawk is cool!". The photography student is coming to take photos of The Defenestrators next Tuesday. MOHAWK POWER!
